You should keep your dog’s food, water, and toys nearby, as well as offer a safe place for him to run away if he becomes stressed. If you are getting a puppy, you should have something that smells familiar to it. When you pick up the puppy, ask the breeder for a blanket that smells of the puppy's mother and littermates.
